Paying for Your Service

Paying for Your Service

How do monthly payments work at Public Mobile?

With our unlimited monthly flat-rate plans, you pay in advance each month to maintain your service. And to help you remember your payments, we'll send messages to your phone before your monthly due date or when your wallet balance is less than $2.

Your payment due date is the same each month. To help you remember, you’ll receive a text message a few days prior to your payment due date reminding you to make a payment to avoid having your service interrupted.

You can check your balance or payment history, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at PublicMobile.ca.

What are my monthly payment options?

Your monthly payment can be made by any of the following methods:

We support payments from the following banks:
Bank of Montreal, Scotia Bank, National Bank, TD Bank, CIBC, Presidents Choice, Royal Bank, Caisse Desjardins, HSBC

It takes 3 business days for a bank payment to post to your account.

A $3 fee is applied for monthly payments made with a Public Mobile representative. We don't like it either but it costs us more when customers pay through a representative. We cover part of that cost but have to pass some of it on to you. You can avoid this fee by signing up for AutoPay or using one of our self serve payment options online, or by calling 611.

What is Visa Debit?

Visa Debit allows you to do more with debit. It works like a debit card allowing you to safely pay for things online or over the phone directly from your bank account.

Public Mobile can now accept Visa Debit as a form of payment. You can now sign up for pre-authorized credit card payments with your Visa Debit card. You are also able to make one time payments with your Visa Debit cards online at Publicmobile.ca, or by calling 611, helping you to avoid the $3 payment fee. Visa Debit is not available as a form of payment in retail stores.

Three Canadian financial institutions are currently offering Visa Debit: TD Canada Trust, CIBC, and Royal Bank. The other major banking institutions will be offering this service in the near future. If you are a customer of one of these banks you can easily obtain a card by visiting a local branch and requesting a new card.

What happens if I forget to pay?

If a payment is not received by your due date, your service will be suspended. It will resume upon payment and your payment due date will remain the same as before.

If you ever miss a payment please call us or go to a store so we can help you get back up and running as soon as possible. If you were to miss 2 payments in a row a $25 reactivation fee will apply.
